7 of World’s Most Secluded Beaches

by

Finding a secluded beach may be challenging, thanks to the popularity of having fun in the sun, but that doesn’t mean a secluded beach doesn’t exist. In fact, there are tons of secluded beaches, which may feel like finding a needle in a haystack, but rest assured you’ll be able to kick off your shoes and wiggle your toes in billions of grains of sand, solo.

Hidden Beach, Puerto Vallarta, MexicoOnce a military practice site, is now a beautiful secluded beach located on the Marieta Islands. This beach is truly hidden and what looks like a hole in the island opens to a sheltered, coved beach. Bring your snorkel gear as this reef area is home to 103 species of tropical fish.

Oswald West State Park, OregonJust south of Cannon beach, this secluded area is accessible via a 15-minute walk through the woods. This crescent-shaped beach is known for it’s swells, which die-hard surfers come to explore. If you enjoy dramatic scenery with a desolate atmosphere, this beach is for you.

Kaihalulu, Hawaii
Often known as Red Sand Beach, this off-the-beaten path beach is located on the Maui Coast. It may be a bit challenging, and possibly dangerous, to get to, but the risk pays a grandiose reward. The red-black beach features majestic views amidst the seaside cliffs. Swimmers beware of tides and undertows.

Colombier Beach, St. Barth’sAccessible by boat, or a 25-minute hike along a rugged trail (located beyond Flamands Beach) is the cove-like Colombier beach, nestled between rolling hills. Private yachts and sailboats often make an appearance and this beach is perfect for snorkelers, swimmers and sunbathers.

Plage Blanche, Morocco
Located in southwest Morocco, this dune-like beach features stunning contrast between the sand and the sea. The beach is nestled between a convergence of two seas, and visitors often visit via boat and spend the day sun worshipping this Sahara-like beach.

Pink Beach, BonaireBonaire is notorious for scuba diving. And pink beach offers miles of desolate, white-sand and aqua blue waters. Located on the south end of the island, explore Bonaire by land where the sand obtains a pink tint from Bonaire’s signature coral reef.

Holbox Island, Yucatan PeninsulaThe 26-mile island features many secluded white-sand beaches. Various beaches are perfect for shelling for those who like to discover a local keepsake. And secluded means desolate. Do not expect to find nightclubs, Wi-Fi or fine dining, and golf carts are the main mode of motor transportation.
