by

Dog lovers are obsessed with finding Fido-friendly places where man and dog unite to enjoy life.  And there’s no better place than a beach where dogs run free, frolic in the water and chase toys amidst the ocean waves. Whether you’re looking for family bonding or puppy time, these are the best dog friendly beaches in the states.

Nag’s Head, North Carolina
Welcome to 11-miles of shoreline waiting for dogs to run free and play. This on-leash beach starts around mile marker 10. For those tired of walking, head to one of two fishing piers or picnic along the shoreline for some R&R.

Dog Beach, Ocean Beach, San DiegoPart of Ocean Beach welcomes furry friends to enjoy the Californian waters with their human owner. This beach is perfect for the social and energetic pup and owner. This beach may get busy with over 100 dogs zipping across the sand, chasing their favorite toy.

Walton Rocks Dog Beach, Florida

Pacific City, OregonThis beach is the ultimate sand-secluded dog beach. Locals head here for the stunning views and sparse crowds. A 400-foot sand dune welcomes man and dog to race up or down the dune. The local Pelican Pub and Brewery allows dogs to be leashed on the patio while owners eat.

Ft. De Soto Paw Playground, St. Petersburg, Florida
This playground is every dog-owners dream. There are two fenced in areas, one for small the other for larger pups. Sandy and dirty dogs take a fur-friendly shower thanks to the ground’s hose and can run on leash on the playground’s beach. Man and dog can walk through the Spanish Fort and gorgeous parks or camp overnight on the grounds.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, MichiganEnjoy the beautiful Lake Michigan shorelines with your family, friends and Fido. The aqua blue ocean will make you believe you are on the Gulf coast, but rest assured it’s a fresh water lake.
